We support an inclusive and diverse range of talented people to share their skills
Our focus is on young people and their education. We believe this is the most sustainable and balanced means of improving everyone’s standard of living. By working together we can create communities that are better informed and supportive of Education which will lead to making a positive difference to young people.
Volunteering with SUITS can be a great opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education, community outreach, and making a positive impact on the lives of others. Our organization relies on the support of volunteers to help us run our various programs and events, including our Weiqi workshops and tournaments.

We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and skill sets and offer a variety of roles and responsibilities to suit your interests and availability. Whether you are interested in event planning, community outreach, or working directly with young individuals, we have a role for you.
To become a volunteer with SUITS, simply fill out our online application form on our website. Our team will review your application and get in touch with you to discuss potential opportunities and roles. We provide training and support to all of our volunteers and look forward to welcoming you to our team.
Disclosure checks are an important part of the volunteering process with SUITS. We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals who participate in our programs, including volunteers, staff, and program participants. Therefore, we require all volunteers to undergo appropriate disclosure checks before they can join our team.
Disclosure checks typically involve a review of an individual’s criminal history, as well as any other relevant background information. This helps to ensure that individuals with a history of criminal behavior that may pose a risk to others are not permitted to participate in our programs. It also helps to provide a safe and secure environment for everyone involved.
At SUITS, we take the confidentiality and privacy of all individuals very seriously. Any information obtained through disclosure checks is treated with the utmost sensitivity and discretion and is only used for the purposes of assessing an individual’s suitability for volunteering with us. We also comply with all relevant data protection legislation to ensure that all information is handled appropriately.
When you volunteer with SUITS, we provide you with comprehensive support to ensure that your experience is fulfilling and rewarding. Here are some of the ways we support our volunteers:
At SUITS, we believe that volunteering is a two-way street. Not only do our volunteers help us achieve our mission of promoting Chinese culture and education, but they also benefit from valuable experiences and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
By volunteering with SUITS, you can gain hands-on experience in event planning, project management, marketing, and communication. You can also develop leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills by working with a diverse team of passionate individuals.
Furthermore, volunteering with SUITS offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the community. Whether it’s by organizing events and workshops that promote cultural understanding, or by supporting our educational programs that provide opportunities for underprivileged students, our volunteers play an essential role in advancing our mission and improving the lives of those around us.
In addition to these benefits, volunteering with SUITS also provides a chance to build meaningful connections and friendships with like-minded individuals who share your passion for Chinese culture and education. Our team is a supportive and welcoming community, and we are committed to providing our volunteers with a positive and rewarding experience.
As a SUITS volunteer, we provide you with training and support to ensure that you have the necessary skills and knowledge to make a positive impact in the community. This includes orientation sessions, ongoing training opportunities, and access to resources and support materials.
During orientation sessions, we provide an overview of our organization and its mission, as well as the specific roles and responsibilities of volunteers. We also provide information on our policies and procedures, such as health and safety guidelines and reporting procedures.
Ongoing training opportunities are provided to ensure that our volunteers have the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out their roles effectively. This may include training in communication skills, conflict resolution, and working with diverse populations. We also provide training on specific program areas, such as Weiqi instruction or youth mentoring.
Volunteers also have access to resources and support materials to assist them in their roles. This may include educational materials, program guides, and online resources. Additionally, volunteers have the opportunity to network with other volunteers and staff, sharing ideas and strategies to improve their effectiveness and impact.
To apply to become a SUITS volunteer, you can visit our website and complete the volunteer application form. The form will ask for your personal information, including your name, contact information, and availability. You will also be asked to provide information about any relevant skills or experience you may have, as well as your reasons for wanting to volunteer with SUITS.
Once we receive your application, our volunteer coordinator will review it and get in touch with you to schedule an interview. The interview will provide an opportunity for us to learn more about your skills, experience, and motivations for volunteering, and for you to ask any questions you may have about SUITS and the volunteering process.
If you are selected to become a SUITS volunteer, you will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which is a background check to ensure that you do not have a criminal record that would make you unsuitable to work with young people. We will cover the costs of the DBS check.
Once your DBS check is complete, you will be provided with training and support to help you carry out your volunteering role. This may include training on safeguarding, child protection, and other relevant topics. You will also have access to ongoing support from our volunteer coordinator and other SUITS staff.
